Personal information we collect
When you send an enquiry or make a booking, we collect the information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, arrival and departure dates, the number of guests, and anything you include in your message.
When you visit our website, our web server and privacy-friendly analytics may record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit. Optional cookies are only set with your consent.
Why we collect and use your information
We use your personal information to respond to your enquiry, to arrange and manage your stay, to keep records of bookings and payments, to keep our website safe and working, and to meet our legal and accounting duties.
We do not use your information for any other purpose without telling you first.
Lawful basis for processing
We process your personal information under one or more of the grounds in POPIA: because you consented, because it is needed to take steps for a contract with you (such as a booking), because we have a legitimate interest that does not override your rights (such as securing our website), or because the law requires it.

Our website uses essential cookies that are needed for the site to work, for example to keep your session secure and to remember your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off.

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, and as long as the law requires. Enquiry records are kept for a reasonable period so we can help you with follow-up questions. Booking, payment and tax records are kept for the periods required by South African law. After that, we delete or anonymise the information.
How we secure information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, disclosure and misuse. These measures include access controls, secure connections and keeping our systems up to date.
If a security breach puts your personal information at risk, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to ask whether we hold personal information about you, and to receive a copy of it. You may ask us to correct or delete information that is wrong or that we no longer need, and you may object to processing in certain cases.

Direct marketing
We do not send marketing messages without your consent. If you have agreed to receive news from us, you can opt out at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe link in the message.
Children
Our website and services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
